The property
What exactly is The Syd?
Six villas around a shared tropical courtyard at 1730 Clio Street, New Orleans, one block off St. Charles Avenue. Each villa was designed and decorated by local artists and makers, each exploring a slice of the city: Street Parades, Swamp to City, The Rhythm of New Orleans, Mardi Gras Magic, Louisiana Wildlife, and Louisiana Living. You rent one villa, several, or all six.
How many people can stay?
Each villa sleeps between 14 and 24. Street Parades sleeps 16, Swamp to City 24, The Rhythm of New Orleans 22, Mardi Gras Magic 14, and Louisiana Wildlife and Louisiana Living 15 each. Take all six and the property sleeps 106.
What do the villas share?
The heated outdoor pool, hot tub, sauna, cabana, outdoor kitchen and BBQ, and the courtyard with its 110-year-old live oak. Inside, every villa has a full kitchen, air conditioning, wifi, TVs, and a laptop-friendly workspace.
Can we bring the kids?
Yes. The villas are suitable for children and infants, and travel cribs are available.
Can we host a gathering there?
The Syd is built for groups and celebrations. That's the whole idea. Tell us what you're planning in the booking notes and we'll talk it through.
Can we bring a dog?
No. Pets are not allowed at The Syd. Service animals are always welcome.
The neighborhood
Where is it, really?
1730 Clio Street, one block from the St. Charles streetcar line, which puts you one block from the Mardi Gras parade route. The Superdome is about six minutes away, the Garden District about five, the French Quarter about ten, and the Convention Center a short ride.
Do the parades really roll that close?
The St. Charles route passes one block from your porch: superkrewes, night parades, the whole show. During Carnival you walk out, watch, and walk home. Book parade season well ahead. It's the biggest week on the calendar.
Booking
How does booking work?
Pick your villas and dates at checkout, where availability and rates are live from our booking calendar. Enter your card to book on the spot: the 50% deposit is charged as your booking confirms and locks your dates, and the balance is charged to the same card automatically 60 days before arrival.
Is booking direct actually cheaper?
Yes. Reserving on our site is the lowest rate anywhere, guaranteed. The listing platforms add their fees on top, and here there is nothing to add.
Is there a minimum stay?
Typically 2–3 nights depending on the dates, and longer on marquee weekends like Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest. The checkout calendar knows the minimum for your exact dates. Stays up to 45 nights are welcome.
What is the cancellation policy?
Full refund if you cancel 60 or more days before arrival. Inside 60 days of arrival, bookings are non-refundable. The balance also charges 60 days out, so everything turns on the same date.
Can one person book for the whole group?
One organizer signs one agreement and pays with one card. We can't take individual payments from each guest, so settle up within the krewe however you like.
